Any thoughts/experiences re: this “new” form of magnesium?
I am taking this supplement formulation by Magtein (trademark of Magceutics, Inc. and is distributed exclusively by AIPD, Inc. They claim it readily passes the ‘blood brain barrier’ I am taking two capsules as a sleep aid, and it seems to be working to help me sleep through the night, without disturbing my sleep, even though I may experience multiple sleep interruptions. I find I easily reenter (normal?) sleep. But, I still feel fatigued upon waking, even after 10 hours of sleep!
I have had a hormone panel, and some problems have been identified, worst of which is “what appears to be some auto-immune activity going on in my Thyroid”. So far no medical action has been taken, other than adopting the “Modified Ketogenic/ Mitochondrial Boost Diet.”
At 71 years old with a history of Traumatic Brain Injuries, it is more a question of which problems to focus one’s limited resources. Based on family history, I likely have another 20 + years to go, and my goal is stay as healthy as possible as long as I live!
Maybe your vitamin D levels or low or you need B12 which both can affect you staying asleep at night.
My VA Doctor is the only Functional Medicine Practitioner at the Cleveland, OH VA Hospital, and is always concerned about my tendency to exceed the high limits on many lab tests, including Vitamin D (the blood lab results for which do not differentiate between D-1,2 or 3 and many food products routinely add D2 when the only one that we hear about as being important in all health studies is D3). I also Max out on B12. Maybe high levels of many nutrients have been my problem all along!
Since I have purchased a Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber, that I have been using twice a day (morning upon rising and night just before bedding down) I have been sleeping through the night and have been experiencing much more consistent sleep cycles. But, at my age (71 years), truly restful sleep is a serious problem.
HBOT has a lot of very positive benefits, including its brain healing/memory boost, whole body anti-inflammatory effects, and reputed life-extension benefits. It is medically considered an “off-label therapy” that too little research has been invested to conclusively identify its many benefits and risks. But it appears that after more than 300 years, this may soon change.
