Where do I start?

This is a great website and have enjoyed using it!  There is so much helpful information here and it has helped but I am still struggling to get better.   Lately I am overwhelmed with life and want to be healthy again. Where do I start? I am trying to deal with losses and aging parents, minor chronic health problems that I can’t seem to resolve which are interfering with my life, trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life (empty nest), and lose 20 pounds. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Chantellel – WELCOME! It has been a while since I logged in but noticed your post today. I wanted to say HI and wish you wellness and encouragement.  My go to for advice recently is Tana Amen’s Facebook page (simply quicker for me to access vs. this portal. I love this site but her FB page is my preference). Tana has several helpful videos, articles, motivation, etc.
Take care!

Hi chantellel! Thanks for reaching out! It can be overwhelming to know where to begin when you have several significant life pieces you are juggling. I would suggest starting with the One Page Miracle in order to keep in mind the big picture shifts you want to make. Then, just take it piece by piece. Here’s one way to know which piece to start first:

For each of us there seems to be the “first domino” that if we push on that one area of our lives it tends to have an effect on other areas in our lives without us trying too hard. For example, starting with nutrition changes can be the domino (eating well leads to better sleep, which leads to more energy, which leads to more movement, which leads to better moods, which leads to more motivation, which leads to more productivity,etc.). For others the domino may be incorporating more exercise, learning something new, getting creative, or seeing a counselor. Pick something that feels like a priority and start there. The goals you set in the One Page Miracle can certainly be a good place to brainstorm if you don’t know what your domino is. Let us know how it goes!

I would start by filling out the daily journal and doing My One Thing Today. In 30 days you will know the site and start making great progress!!

I’m kind of in a similiar situation, I have a Mom in a nursing home and I have my own minor health issues. I know how overwhelming life get sometime, so I just join BrainFitLife. you might find it helpful to start with deep breathing exercises in the Relaxation Room and writing down what you want your life to be. Seeing it in writing will help you focus. Also try taking a walk eveyday and concentrating on what you want that is positive in your life.  This is a great site but it is a lot to absorb,
