Thanks for reaching out, Ray. Working with a psychotherapist or psychologist can be a wonderful place to start. I would seek someone out who specializes in trauma, and make sure you speak with a few people to find the best fit for you, as a relationship of trust and compassion will be of paramount importance for your healing. www.goodtherapy.org is a great resource to find someone near you. Best to you- Coach Zoe
Many thanks. Currently, I am seeing one of the recommeded clinicians in goodtherapy.org.
I recently had the Brain Scan/Evaluation (2 day) consultation at one of the Amen Clinics after taking a personal inventory of (personally recalled) Brain Traumas over my 71 years of Running the Gauntlet (life) — the number came to more than 20.
I learned more at the Amen Clinic than I had ever been able to learn from consulting the usual ‘superficial & indifferent’ pedestrian sick-care delivery practitioners.
I have been following the prescribed diet/nutrition/exercise protocol including taking BrainMDHealth.com neutraceuticals for nearly 18 months, and have added Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) about a month ago as prescribed. All have been very helpful.
The HBOT has been most dramatic in its impact on my mental function and sense of well-being. It appears that this is one of those conditions that affirms the idea that ‘more is better’ (at least when it comes to levels of blood oxygen)!
I was not able to find a reasonably priced HBOT clinic, and the VA denies that it is of any true benefit — (mostly because they do not want to spend the money to provide this therapy for all of us trauma victims who qualify for VA benefits). The only reasonable option for me was to buy my own ‘portable’ HBOT Chamber, which I now use twice each day. Thank God I am not homeless!
