THE FAT SUMMIT?

Today (Feb 1), is the last day for watching THE FAT SUMMIT online, for free.  I watched Dr. Hyman’s interviews with Dr. Deepak Chopra; Dr. David Ludwig; Dr. Jeffrey Bland; Dr. Barry Sears; and a few others.  It is motivating to learn WHY healthy fats are good for us and how seriously the sweet/fat combination hurts us.   I would love to discuss this.

This is such an important topic! Since the brain is composed of so much fat, healthy fats in our foods not only satisfy us and keep us from over consuming “empty”, low nutrient foods, they are essential for optimal brain function! For too long fat has been removed from foods and replaced with more sugar and salt to make them taste better. Smaller amounts of healthy fats make us feel sated with less food, give our brains much needed nutrition, and decrease inflammation throughout the body. So happy more folks are learning not to be afraid of good fats!

Living in Italy for 12 years taught me to eat lots of healthy fats in the form of olive oil, fresh, whole goat/sheep milk and fresh fish.  I noticed such an improvement in my health and well being.  I have kept that up ever since and am so glad to see more and more research revealing the truth about our dietary habits here in the USA.  Sally4th, I tried to find the Fat Summit but could not find a way to listen.  Is there any way to access it now without paying?  I am afraid not…but maybe there is another way to access the information….
You mentioned a discussion….that sounds wonderful and interesting!
You could post some things you learned and let us comment and discuss….maybe?

Great topic!  I’ve read that people have a “fat tooth” and that we need healthy fats to feel satisfied- I am starting to get more comfortable with this idea now- have always had the idea that fat was the enemy of weight loss . I am enjoying coconut oil, olive oil and healthy nut butters , avocado etc.

What the heck is the FAT SUMMIT?  Where do I find it?

on February 12, 2016

The FAT SUMMIT is a series of interviews that Dr. Mark Hyman (author of “Eat Fat, Get Thin”) did with a wide range of experts, such as Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Barry Sears, Dr. Perlmutter, Dr. David Ludwig (a Harvard researcher) and others, exploring how nutrition affects our overall health.  They were correcting the old idea that a low-fat diet is good for us.  The new understanding is that we should get most of our calories from high-quality fat, such as avocado, olive oil, coconut oil, (although most of the volume on our plate should still be vegetables).  — By the way, I believe Dr. David Ludwig will be appearing on one of Dr. Amen’s live Facebook events.  (It was supposed to happen earlier this week, but had to be postponed due to technical difficulties.) — The FAT SUMMIT was offered free, online, for a limited time, but now you would probably have to buy the series to view it.
