Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience with this community. Your self-depreciation and sadness is important to provide space and care for, so I would encourage you to reach out to friends, community groups, and potentially support groups if you are open to it. There are ‘warmlines’ that offer peer support available free of charge in many states, so you might look that up for someone to talk to, if that is something you are interested in doing.
When something doesn’t seem to be changing in a way you want/need, it can be helpful to look at it from another angle. For your job search, have you considered a way to gain new skills for the job market, or would you consider a job that is very different than something you’ve done before? For example, do you have a ‘hobby’ or interest that you could turn into paid work in any way?
While you are looking for more permanent work, you might try a temp agency for a seemingly ‘random’ job that could help inspire a new path or idea for different work than you might have considered on your own. Breaking out of the familiar can often (at minimum) inspire us to see things from a new perspective, and sometimes that energy can spark the motivation to continue seeking work, or open up a path we hadn’t been able to see before.
Best to you!
