Yes, quinoa is a brain healthy food in moderation. Depending on your brain type, more or less could be helpful as it is high in carbohydrates, which is good for some brain types more than others. What brain type are you?

Hi Coach,
Thank you, I am brain type 11.  I have another question are Pork rinds ok?

For brain type 11, a starchier carbohydrate like quinoa or sweet potatoes, can be included daily as you do best with a higher carbohydrate, lower protein protocol.

The average brand of pork rinds are typically terrible for the brain and the body, as they are made with very low quality pork, unhealthy oils, MSG, and various dyes.

There are healthier versions available at some health food stores, made from organic pork, with no added oils, dyes, or additives, and instead just spices for flavor. The quality really counts with these kinds of foods, and as with any packaged or processed foods, should still be used sparingly. Hope that helps! -Coach Zoe

I never buy any of the flavored kinds. Only ingredients in mine are fried pork skin and salt… You think it’s ok?

On rare occasion, but the quality of the meat we consume is really important too. If the animals we eat are fed poor quality foods, and are over medicated due to having poor environments in which they live, it fundamentally alters their biochemistry, and thus what nutrients we receive from them. For example, the fatty acid profile of animals fed their traditional diet (such as grass and plants for a cow) versus a soy or corn based diet is very different, and directly impacts the nutrition we gain from eating them. -Coach Zoe
