Question about Seratonin Mood Support and SAMe

Updated on July 23, 2016 in Anxiety & Depression

I have been taking antidepressants for 30 years and have also been taking a mood stabilizer for 12 years. Is it safe to take the Serotonin Mood Support or the SAMe with my medication? I’m on Celexa 40mg, Abilify 5mg, and Neurontin 300mg, twice a day. Thanks.

I would check with your doctor.  For my patients I often add one of them (not both at a time) and see how they do. But it is important to check with your healthcare providers.

Is it okay to take BrainMD’s Serotonin Mood Support in addition to: taking 500 mg of GABA once in a while earlier in the day and 500 mg L-Tryptophan with two tablets of Theanine Serene with Relora before bedtime at night. Each of these tablets has 300 mg Magnesium, 500 mg GABA, 450 mg Taurine, 200 mg L-Theanine, 150 mg Relora, 200 mg Holy Basil Leaf Extract.

Likely you do not need the extra tryptophan. The Serotonin Mood Support should cover the serotonin.
