I just read that you must take pre and probiotics at the same time or they are not as effective by themselves Is this true? Also, can I get enough of both thru food or must I take both in supplement form?

Prebiotics are different forms of fiber that ‘feed’ the beneficial bacteria (probiotics) and should be gotten mostly through food. To get the 25-30 g/day minimally necessary, be sure to eat plenty of plant-based whole foods, including vegetables, fruits, nuts/seeds, lentils, whole grains, etc. If you don’t eat enough of those, then taking a synbiotic (a combination of both pre and pro biotics) is necessary.

Best!
