Mushroom Coffee and Bullet Coffee

I’ve been seeing a lot of hype for mushroom coffee lately.  In the past, I’ve seen the same kind of hype for Bullet Coffee (coffee plus MCT oil.)  Is there really any benefit to drinking these coffees, or are they just marketing schemes?

I don’t know what the coaches will say, but I know that Dr. Amen tries to discourage us from drinking coffee.  He says it cuts blood flow to the brain by 30%!  He says that, if we won’t give up coffee, we should at least make sure it is de-caf.  It should also be organic as pesticides are toxic and heating them makes them worse.  (Maybe it makes them more concentrated.)  On the other hand, MCT oil is good for the brain, and mushrooms probably are, too.

Mushrooms have many great benefits, though I prefer eating them! I don’t think there is any harm in using these supplements for most people, however, so enjoy them if you do. And although Sally4th is right that too much caffeine restricts blood flow to the brain, one cup of caffeinated coffee per day has some benefit. Green tea is the preferred energizer in the morning for the brain due to its mild caffeine, but also compounds that help us focus. If you do use decaffeinated coffee, be sure it is Swiss water processed decaf, so there are not additional chemicals used to remove the caffeine.
