The below levels of lead are in my magnesium. Also concerned about the arsenic. Is this why my heavy metal level for lead increased? I take only 1 or 2 caps.a night for sleeping though the dosage is 4 caps.Thanks.

This product recorded 0.194 mcg of total arsenic per serving. Using the assumption that inorganic arsenic comprises 80% of total arsenic, 1g of this product would fall below Labdoor’s standards for inorganic arsenic content.| This product recorded less than 0.039 mcg of cadmium per serving.

This product recorded 0.093 mcg of lead per serving.

This product recorded less than 0.039 mcg of mercury per serving.

I’ve reached out to our supplement scientists for any insight on this. I’m not sure what level in the supplement would translate to an increase for you. It’s very likely that contamination is coming from a variety of sources (this is called our total toxic load), including air and soil pollution, which are major sources.

Hi again- I got a response from our supplement science team…they are asking where you got the metal amounts you have listed, please. Let us know, thanks!

The amounts are from a subscription to Consumer Labs. They evaluate for the true content of supplements as well as heavy metals etc.       consumerlab.com

I heard back from our chief scientist and he said there is no way to know if your labs are due to the levels found in your supplements as there is no clear way to delineate that. While our supplements are third-party analyzed for contaminants, that is not true of many products.

As I mentioned before, it’s likely exposure to toxic metals comes from multiple sources. If you are concerned about high levels, you can work with an integrative or naturopathic physician on what’s called chelation therapy to lower toxic heavy metal levels from your system. I hope that helps! -Zoe

I do  go to a functional medicine center but not sure if they do chelation therapy. So is the amount in the magnesium pills I took insignificant or could it be a contributor to an increase? My level was 3. I have eliminated several factors..had the water tested (we use a filter anyway), don’t drink/cook from potentially contaminating items etc.

From our chief scientist’s explanation, it sounds like it’s not possible to know for sure, but any level is technically contributing to your total load, though it sounds like it is minimal from your supplements.
