Losing more hair than normal :(

I have been experiencing much more hair loss than usual for the last 11 days along with more itching of the scalp but not too severe.

The only thing I changed in my life style is I am working out 4 times a week instead of the usual 2 times a week. I would assume working out should relief the stress if anything.

I am 28 years old female and my workouts are with Orange Theory (interval training, but I do overdo it or anything)

Getting my thyroid checked now with my doctor, but what else could it be? 🙁 do you have any recommendations for supplements or oil to apply on the scap to help with that?

Although thyroid dysfunction is commonly associated with hair loss, this can also be due to essential fatty acid deficiency or protein malabsorption/intake. You might ask your doctor about lab work to see if either of these are at play for you.

will do. What causes EFA deficiency & protein malabsorption?

EFA insufficiency is common from not eating enough wild fish, avocado, olive oil, and other sources of healthy omegas. You can check this at omegaquant.com for about $75 if your doctor doesn’t provide that with your labwork.

Protein malabsorption can occur with age, insufficient stomach acid production, or other digestive health issues. Our digestive tract slows down as we age, and that can mean more difficulty breaking down proteins in the stomach, affecting absorption of some key b-vitamins, iron, and amino acids. For some, digestive enzyme supplements, or HCl supplements can correct this fairly easily.

Hope that helps!
