I have been fighting INSOMNIA for over 12 years. It is a nightly battle. I don’t think there is a cure for me. I use an app daily CBT-I  (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-for insomnia) I have done extensive research on sleep. I have had 2 sleep studies done, tried numerous programs, tried 4-5 different drugs (currently I use Lunesta). Now I am starting  Brain Fit as another help program. I would like to discuss with people that have this problem and maybe help each other.

We are very glad you are here! We have worked with many individuals who suffer from insomnia, and our multi-disciplinary approach may provide new hope as you continue to seek out support to improve your sleep. Biological, psychological, social, and spiritual components can each offer unique benefits that, when used in combination, may provide additional answers for you.

It sounds like you have explored some of these areas robustly in your search for answers. If you haven’t done so already, I would encourage you to consider a few additional layers here: 1) sound nutrition (void of any allergies, stimulants in excess, illumination of food sensitivities, and addressing nutritional insufficiencies/deficiencies), 2) environmental toxicants that we may be exposed to regularly that may be creating imbalance in hormonal or nervous system function, 3)  regular exercise earlier in the day 4) working with a counselor or therapist for a period of time as sleep is one of the ways we express a feeling of safety or lack thereof.

Hope some of these ideas may be useful.

Best!

Zoe

Psych meds can be a big contribute to insomnia. If that is the case with you talk with your health care provider. Try no fruit after dinner. The fructose in the fruit can disturb sleep. Acupuncture may help.
