I have a question for the coach regarding an 18year old. What is the best suppliment for someone who deals with axiety and the feeling that they feel too much (both too high and too low)? Nothing severe but enough to want help. The Dr said anti-depressants but that just made her feel nothing which was worse!
GABA Calming by BrainMD can be very helpful to ease anxiety for many people, but there are other aspects besides supplements that are important to attend to as well. Eliminating foods that can exacerbate anxiety is key (sugar, artificial sweeteners, white flours, processed foods, poor quality fats, and additives like MSG), while at the same time increasing intake of foods that promote GABA synthesis such as broccoli, almonds, walnuts, lentils, bananas, beef liver, brown rice, halibut, gluten-free whole oats, oranges, and spinach. Regular protein throughout the day to avoid low blood sugar is also important.
Additionally, outlets for anxiety such as social connection and creative expression (journaling, drawing, painting, dancing) can be very helpful, as can diaphragmatic breathing and exercise (essential). Therapy in some form can help tremendously as well, whether individual, group, wilderness therapy, or art therapy.
I know that was more than you asked for, but there are many avenues to support a sense of calm, and the ‘key’ for any one individual may be slightly different. If you would like to have a more personalized assessment for the most important interventions for your daughter, consider meeting with one of our nutritionists or brain health coaches. Best to you and yours!

Hi Adrienne,
Yes, you can call us to set up an initial appointment at 877-758-4255 and ask for a brain health coaching appointment or initial nutrition visit. Let them know that you were referred from me on Brain Fit Life. I am available for phone or video appointments or at Amen Clinic in Northern California, and we have other nutritionists/coaches around the country.
