I WOULD LIKE TO START A SMALL STEADY “COMPLEX PTSD” GROUP

Updated on April 28, 2020 in Share Challenges

HI.  LS here.  Yes, I would like to start a support group for what is called  Complex PTSD or Childhood PTSD of maybe 5 regular people who can share successful techniques for handling triggers,  celebrate insights and successes and give support.

My awareness of this came from dating long ago a Vietnam Veteran who had PTSD.  As we went through counseling, I began to notice that I had some of these symptoms, but since I hadn’t been in a war, it went by.

Then a girlfriend recommended the book “Complex PTSD, From Surviving to Thriving” by Pete Walker, who is a single dad, and who writes with  a minimum of psychological nomenclature, so the reading is not difficult.

I have two needs in this group:  1) I need each of you to have a name.  You can make one up as long as it. is consistently used, but I cannot experience your humanity without a name, at least (voices and faces would be more optimum, but here we are! and 2) I need a general location such as a state and general area.  For example, I live in Northern California, east of the Bay Area.  This protects your/our privacy, but gives me personally a sense of grounding and physical  reality if I know what your environment and climate is like.

OK!  Who is up for this?

Thanks,

LS
