How badly will anesthesia hurt me if I need to have a procedure?

Soon I need to have an endoscopy or something similar. I worry that the anesthesia they give will make me lose the ground I have begun gaining. Is there a way to protect myself from any bad effects? Thank you in advance for any ideas.

Ask to have the procedure done under spinal anesthesia if possible.  Not everyone has problems with general anesthesia but enough people do to be concerned.  If you need to then, make sure to do all the other things right.

Thank you for answering. Spinal sounds kind of scary, but if that would be better I will ask. What other things am I supposed to do right? Just the things I have been learning?

Yes, keep up with your nutrition, supplements, exercise, good sleep, and stress management. All of these things will continue to support you, and give you a great advantage if you do get general anesthesia. They are very much preventative as well as restorative.

Thank you.
