Respond below with your goals for the New Year.
“A goal without a plan is just a wish.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery
New year- new beginning- not a time for those same old goals is it? Maybe this year I will do something different and make a plan for myself instead of setting lofty goals that I never really expect to meet.
I am going out each morning for my morning walk with the expectation that I will connect with the world around me in a special way and find a message for my day from creation. So far every day has been amazing…inspiration comes from many sources…clouds, wind, ripples on the lake, the birds, etc. I find it’s a great way to train myself to be more aware and present throughout my day. It is not original, but was suggested by Deepak Chopra in one of his books. It makes me want to revisit Thoreau’s writings!
Because of learning I have several severe food allergies, I am for the first time in my life developing meal plans, organizing recipes and making detailed shopping lists for each week. I LOVE to cook and never thought this type of “busy work” was necessary for me. I’m even starting to find it fun!!!
That’s great, Chellnor. Happy new year! How wonderful it is to connect with nature in the morning and set your intention and goals for the day in relative quiet. It works for me, too. I love walking my dog in the morning and sometimes he jogs with me. It makes me feel so much better throughout the day. Then I make good choices for the rest of the day, relative to diet and exercise. Nature is healing!
My goal…. is to actually for once, in 11 years, try to be as open and honest about what I’m really feeling with my psychologist, because you can’t get help if you sit pretty with a smile….!
