Guacamole is mentioned often in recipes and nutrition info. What is it and how do you make it?

Hello, derdoc!

Guacamole is one of the most delicious dishes ever. Here is a recipe from simplyrecipes.com. Eat it with tortilla chips or put it on a sandwich. It is good either way.  I can eat it straight or with veggies. I never put serrano chiles in mine because I don’t like the heat. Try it with lime juice.  It’s the best.

How to Make Perfect Guacamole Recipe

  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 2-4

Be careful handling chiles if using. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling and do not touch your eyes or the area near your eyes with your hands for several hours.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1 Tbsp of fresh lime juice or lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp to 1/4 cup of minced red onion or thinly sliced green onion
  • 1-2 serrano chiles, stems and seeds removed, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro (leaves and tender stems), finely chopped
  • A dash of freshly grated black pepper
  • 1/2 ripe tomato, seeds and pulp removed, chopped

Garnish with red radishes or jicama. Serve with tortilla chips.

Guacamole is wonderful! Instead of tortilla chips that are typically made of either corn or white flour, try having guacamole with raw veggies or flax crackers. You can also use it on top of a “taco” salad made of greens, bell peppers, onion, shredded beets/carrots, and ground turkey or chicken seasoned with chili powder. Delicious!

Serrano chilies are good for inflammation and the heat is reduced when you take out all the seeds..I vote to keep it in the recipe!

Or can use celery organic or yellow or green squash sliced . I lot more healthily than a corn chip
