I’d like to know if there are geographical communities of like-minded brain warriors anywhere in the country. My husband and I are relocating in 1-2 years and searching out where to go, we long to find other people committed to the brain warrior way of life.

Will you define what over-exercise is, when it is no longer beneficial but hurtful to one’s health, please?

Is 6 days per week/2 hours a day too much?  Thank you.

The amount of exercise that crosses over from healthy to harmful depends so much on age, nutrition status, health concerns, and what you mean specifically by 2 hours per day. Certainly being active for 2 hours each day can be wonderful, and many people in labor jobs such as construction, or instructors of exercise are highly active for many hours each day. Variety is often key, as a mix of cardio, stretching, strength training, balance, and coordination may be very healthy, while doing repetitive movement such as running or cycling for 2 hours each day 6 days per week will likely be wearing on the body very quickly–again, depending on age, nutritional intake, and health status.

I hope this helps!

Thank you, it’s helpful; can you recommend an article, a podcast, or a book (from Dr. Amen) that provides more information, please? I need to check further into this issue.

Can this thread be renamed to  Over-Exercise do you know, or is that on my end?

You can start a new thread if you’d like, but these posts won’t carry over unless we manually do that. I can certainly cut and paste my responses to the new thread if you do that.

Here are a couple of helpful articles on the subject:

Best!

While there are no formal specific geographical groups, perhaps folks on this forum can create such a thing if people are willing to share locations. You can certainly choose to let folks here know where you will be, and see if there are any takers!
