Favorite Recipes & substitutions?

I’m wondering what recipes have been tried either from the site or from Tana’s cookbooks that are really good?  Starting out, it is really expensive to stock up on some of the ingredients… has anyone found that they are substituting for another ingredient here or there?

The Guiltfree Chicken Tenders is pretty easy.  If you make a double batch of the coating mix, you can save it in a baggie for another time.  Dr. Mark Hyman also has good recipes with fewer exotic ingredients.

Thank you so much, I’ll be sure to look up the tenders and Dr Hyman.

I like the Cinnamon-Spice Stabilizer.  Although I find that I don’t particularly care for the pea protein powder – it seems rather grainy to me.

Tana has a great new recipe of half an avocado with an egg in the hole where the pit was. Microwave for 1 minute and you have breakfast. Welcome to our community.

The Warm Sweet Potato Pudding recipe lists macadamia nuts as an ingredient but, in the directions, refers to pine nuts.  I seem to remember that Tana posted once about which nut she uses for the recipe, but I cannot recall which one she said it was.  If you know, will you please tell me?  Thanks!

I’m not sure which one she posted about, but I think as with most recipes, you can vary according to your taste preferences. Enjoy!

There are crackers called “Flackers” made by Doctor in the Kitchen that have good quality ingredients, and no flours or sugars. You can also thinly slice zucchini, beets, or yams and roast them for a cracker-like substitute. I love using veggies instead of crackers! If you broil them the last few minutes they will get especially crisp like a cracker.

I really like coconut wraps!  Tana says she likes flax crackers, look at the ingredients.

I’m really enjoying the video’s Dr. Amen and Tana have made available regarding cleaning out pantry and looking at ingredients.  Very helpful and useful as I try to determine what’s, what.
How to is as important to me as why. Love it!
