Digestive Enzymes

I am reading functional medicine doctor, Jeffrey Bland’s Disease Delusion book, and he talks about taking digestive enzymes which specifically contain porcine, chymotrypsin, lipase. Is there a way to get these in food or what do you recommend as a supplement? Is there a test to see if one is deficient in these enzymes?

Our bodies naturally create enzymes that include lipase (breaks down fat), and chymotrypsin (breaks down proteins) but due to certain conditions and aging, our digestive system slows down and can produce less of these, so we may benefit greatly from supplementing. Porcine-based enzymes can be found in many digestive enzyme supplements including such brands as Biotics Research, among others. Best!
