chat online or email with a BrainFit Coach?

I am about to go get my blood tests run – and need to know where to find where I can interpret them?  Also would like some sort of a guideline on how to interpret to share with the Daniel Plan class I’m leading.  We are starting a new class in October and I’m seriously considering starting them with the recommendation to “Know your Numbers” – give them the list of blood tests – of course go over with their doctor – but some sort of general information on what ranges are acceptable for each test and what they are indicators of.  So rather than go in blind – go fully informed to discuss with doctor.  So I am asking for myself NOW but would like to share with class if it works well for me.

Also I am juggling finances, and additional costs.  Dr. Amen has been wonderful responding to my posted questions.  I just can’t do the supplements packages twice daily – the monthly cost is out of my range.  So I’ve adapted – and very inconsisently I admit – trying to do a packet once a day with a multivitamin for the other dose and fish oil capsules and probiotics when I have them.  Believe me, I’d like to do both doses each day.  But as I limp through this healing process – would like ability to chat with a coach occasionally – if you think appropriate given my membership level.

I started the Brain Warrior program, but have let it lapse because of time management issues and my tendency to get distracted.  I’m job hunting, had a death in the immediate family and just have a struggle staying on track – leading the Daniel Plan once a week and then taking a second day for the Warrior program just seemed overwhelming.  I’d love to move down and work with you all – my thought was that if I completed that training I’d be a much stronger candidate.  But it the short term – I’ve just had to focus on higher priorities.  Hope that is a good decision!

So – how do I chat with a coach?  Once or maybe 2-3 times?  It was mentioned in one article I read today – so I’m wondering how to do it because I don’t see the menu way to get to that. Thanks.

Hi SaneDiane:  You can make a phone consult with one of the doctors at Amen Clinics to go over your labs, or do it with your own health care provider.  I am a big fan of starting healthcare programs by knowing your important health care numbers.

so is it no longer one of the benefits to go work with one of the coaches in live chat or email?  I’m sure a phone consult with one of your doctors will cost $ – as does my doctor because of the low level insurance I can afford.  I was hoping there was some sort of pdf that went along with the list of tests you suggest.  Guess not!

I’ll google for info on the different tests you recommend I guess in the interim.  All you offer at almost free rates – and free – already is amazing.  Thank you Dr. Amen for your passion and for sharing so much.

The first Brain Assessment online is in PDF but it only emails to you.

My question is kind of along the same lines, which is why I’m posting here.

Is there a way that PDF or some other record can be sent directly to my doctor by mail or fax?

I already did a phone consult and they said my doctor could call but I don’t think she wants to do that. In the meantime I’m just going to print the PDF and take it to my doctor appointment.

Then as for posting labs publicly is that secure?  My glucose is all messed up but for some odd reason my doctors do not want to write the diagnosis of pre-diabetes or diabetes.

Thanks.

When I googled each of the tests, I found out that the Mayo Clinic has excellent information sheets on what each of the tests tell you – specific to the results you got.  Of course if anything suggests a problem – get a doctor’s opinion!

Yes Mayo is good and American Diabetes Association. But unless your going to go to Mayo then you have to find a doctor to do the tests and pay for it.

Oh – I have the ability to get the tests done but wanted to get more information about what the results would mean.  Brain Fit suggests a service that will order the tests for you but it is costly if you are paying out of pocket.

Under Test My Brain, there are ranges for your important numbers, and some suggestions on what to do if they are not normal. You can also post them here.

Where are the suggestions for what to do if they are not normal
