Hi, can antidepressants or stimulant medications for ADD make depression worse?

Because of our bioindividuality,  we can react differently to medications based on many factors, including our genetics, biology, environment, and lifestyle choices. That’s why it is always best to use medication when needed as one of the supporting legs of our table of health, not the only one. And if you feel you are having adverse effects from medications, speak to your doctor about other options. In the meantime do your best to support your health with good nutrition, regular exercise, adequate hydration, restorative sleep, and stress management. – Coach Zoe

Yes.  Antidepressants don’t solve the problem, they only mask the symptoms.  Also, if the antidepressant is not the correct one for your brain, it could make it much worse.  The only way to find out what your brain needs is to have a SPECT scan to see the areas of overactivity and underactivity.  I would try to find what is causing the depression first, in my case it was PTSD.
