Brain computer games

I am one of a few people without a cell phone and really feel all these devices are like kryptonite to my brain. I have a natural aversion to all of them, though it is almost impossible now to not have computer access. As a result, doing the brain games on BFL and other activities push me to be on the computer more, which is the opposite of my goal. What can I do to get similar brain improvement with brain exercises not connected with using a computer?  Have you heard of anyone else who really is not interested in all the latest gadgets? I love learning new things, but not by using computers etc. Thanks!

Absolutely! There are many brain-stimulating activities that can be found away from computers. Chess, puzzles, city scavenger hunts, riddles, memory (the card version), Sudoku, etc. are just a few. What kinds of games are you looking for alternatives to? Maybe folks here have other ideas for “offline” versions of the ones you are using here!

Any games that do not require a computer.  Thanks!
