A few questions

1) After taking the assessment to figure out our brain type is there a way to know what supplements are recommended?  I already take a multivitamin and fish oil but have been reading about others such as the serotonin booster etc.

2) When I drink the recommended amount of water ( 2.5 liters a day in my case) I need to pee a lot ( like nearly hourly) Is this normal?

3) My life is fairly stressful right now ( I’m in graduate school) plus I tend to worry about things I probably don’t need to worry about causing even more stress. I’ve tried all the usual things- good diet, meditation, exercise etc but I still find myself feeling tired a lot – more than normal I believe. I get plenty of sleep- in fact this last winter I have been averaging 8-9 hours because I just can’t get going in the morning. I’ve been starting to wonder if getting to much sleep is making me feel comatose in the morning?

1) Look under your Brain Type for your personalized recommendations. They will also be on your supplement page.
2) Yes, increased urination is good as it washes away some of the toxins.
3) likely not too much sleep. Make sure to check your thyroid.

Thanks for the reply.  I got all of the tests recommended from Brain Warrior Live and I’m waiting for the results.  I have had my thyroid level checked in the past and it was normal but we’ll see.  I looked up the supplements and I have a concern about a couple things.  The fish oil I currently take (sfh.com – stronger, faster, healthier – it was the one recommended by my doctor) has 1000 IU of vitamin D, 2071mg EPA and 1173mg DHA which is less than the one you recommend.  Is it the ratio that matters more than the amount?  I’ve also been nervous about the vit D in it because my supplement also has 2000IU of vitamin D so this would be 3000IU total- is this going to lead to toxicity problems?

I was also wondering about the extra B6 in the serotonin mood boost because between it (20mg) and my supplement (another 20mg) this is 40mg.  Is this something to worry about long term?  I know that this is well below what you need to take to reach toxicity levels in say a few weeks- but over years could this cause problems?

Thank you for your help- I’ve been enjoying your programs.. -Raili

Do you mean 3000 (you wrote 30000) IU total for Vitamin D? This is not a level worthy of concern. Once you get your results for your labwork, you may be adjusting it then anyway. The maximum daily dose of B6 suggested is 100 mg, so at 40 mg, you are okay there too.

The ratio of EPA to DHA is important, but the mg suggested by Dr. Amen for optimal brain functioning is generally 3000 to 4000mg/day. Sounds like you are doing pretty well with yours, but you may consider ours for your next bottle!

Hi – I put 3000 IU.  You are probably right because one of the tests was to measure vit D.  I guess the concern with 40 mg is that the recommended daily for adults is around 1.5 mg so this is still way above what’s recommended even though the max is 100 mg.

You may find the National Institutes of Health website to be helpful to read about the symptoms of vitamin toxicity, but in general you should be fine at 40 mg. Remember, the RDA standards are not for disease prevention or optimal health, just for minimal need in a healthy individual.
