3 months postpartum

Hello. I’m 3 months postpartum with my 4 child. My third pregnancy I got bad anxiety during 7 months pregnant. I was prescribed zoloft. With my 4th pregnancy I basically had off and on anxiety and depression from the beginning. I was prescribed mirtazpin.
Also with this last pregnancy I got diastasis recti which has caused me to hold a lot of extra weight in the belly.
How can I know if the medication is right for my brain type? Is there hope to one day not be medicated? How can I get my abs to be healed without the worry that this is going to be my new norm? I am currently 33lbs “overweight “, meaning I used to be small frames before kids and considered underweight. I was 100lbs before kids and after I healed from my first two babies. But I can feel that this extra weight is a burden on my body.
Anyway any extra support in these areas?

Thanks for your post! Have you been evaluated with one of our physicians? They are the go-to source for helping to hone in on what medications are best for your individual brain, and in addition, what supplements may reduce your need for medication, or which will support the medication to work more efficiently.

For overall fat reduction, follow the brain healthy eating guidance on “Feed My Brain” where you will see an emphasis on real, whole foods that nourish our body and brain more optimally. The ‘side effect’ of reducing or eliminating processed foods high in sugar, poor quality fats, and hormones/additives is getting rid of excess weight and moderating our cycles overall: hunger, sleep, energy, mood, motivation, etc.

Key tips: be sure you are getting adequate protein (eggs, poultry, wild fish, lentils, etc.) and a healthy fat (avocado, olive oil, nuts, seeds, etc.) at every meal. In addition, add vegetables whenever you can throughout the day, and drink plenty of water. In other words, focus on what you want to have in abundance, so the things you are trying to avoid (sugar, white flour, unhealthy fats, processed foods), will naturally be reduced.

For the diastasis recti, I would highly recommend trying a program like Mutusystem.com for specific exercises to help, or work with a physical therapist/trainer who specializes in working with women postpartum.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much.
No I have not been evaluated one of your physicians. How do I go about doing that? Is it via phone, online or in person at one of your locations?

You’re so welcome! Evaluations are in-person initially in one of our 8 clinics around the country but follow-ups can be on the phone or via video in many cases.

You can get more information at www.amenclinics.com or call (855)752-7221

Best!
