I am reading a fascinating book called Lymph and Longevity by Dr. Gerald Lemole. All the suggestions are are wonderful but what is your view on the best practices for lymph health? There is so much to learn!! I was thinking of trying lymph massage. I found a PT who has it as one of her specialties. Do you think lymph massage is   helpful?

Probably so, if you have a properly trained person who can show you the techniques.

I deal with lymphedema from an old hiking injury, so have had to really search out therapists and do the wraps. They have been somewhat helpful, but then your issue is likely different from mine, which is a lifelong management situation.

It can be hard to find someone who really knows a lot about it.  Check your person’s experience and credentials.  Lots of massage therapists say they do lymphatic work, but it may be worth it to seek out someone very specialized who really knows what they are doing, so they can teach you properly.  If there is a lymphedema program in your town, for instance connected to a hospital, they may be able to refer you to someone experienced.

Here’s a place to start:  https://lymphaticnetwork.org/living-with-lymphedema/find-a-lymphedema-therapist/

Then again, it’s possible that someone specialized may only see people with actual lymphedema.

Best of luck to you.

Ps if you ever injure your ankle and it swells up, don’t ignore it or you may be sorry years down the road.
