Always talk to your doctor about weighing the benefits to risks of steroid use, and follow her/his guidance on reducing or eliminating use. There are moderate nutrient depletions related to use including calcium, chromium, magnesium, and vitamin D. Prednisone can raise blood glucose, and as a steroid, is an immune-suppressant, potentially increasing risk of viral and bacterial infection. All of these effects can affect both brain and body. I would encourage you to work with an integrative physician who may be able to offer supportive therapies to offset some of these effects, or offer adjuncts/replacements for use altogether. Best!
