I have been doing all three meditations on the brain fit life website but I keep Falling asleep while doing them. Is this ok? If not what can I do about it?
If you are just starting a meditation practice, falling asleep is more common. Additionally, if you are sleep deprived, slowing down to meditate may signal your body to get the rest it needs.
If you are attending to your sleep hygiene and not physically exhausted during the day, try keeping your eyes open during meditation, cooling the room, or meditate at a time of day that you are less likely to fall asleep. Some people find group meditation (once we can) a way to encourage wakefulness as well.
And remember that you can meditate while doing activities, such as walking meditations. If you find that you tend towards sleeping when you want to be practicing mindfulness, try an activity-centered meditation (walking, gardening, doing the dishes, etc.). These can be equally relaxing for some.
