Hi folks. I seem to be addicted to sugar-free red bull. What suggestions do you have to eliminate it?

There are several parts of this beverage that you may be ‘addicted’ to, but luckily many of the constituents can be found in much healthier versions elsewhere.

  • B-vitamins: protein-rich foods, dark leafy greens, nuts/seeds, and supplements
  • Caffeine: try alternate forms that are phytonutrient-rich such as green or black tea and that can help with focus and even energy without the ‘jitters’.
  • Sweetness: Avoid the artificial sweetener aspartame at all costs as it can be highly toxic to the nervous system, especially with continued use. Safer sweeteners are monk fruit extract, allulose, and stevia when needed.

Try making your own green tea with one of these healthier sweeteners and keep in the fridge for a better alternative, and be sure to get vitamin-b rich foods/supplements so all your needs are met without this beverage.

Hope that helps! -Zoe
