Seaweed is good for you,but my concern lies in the potential contamination from water pollution. Is there any seaweed that is safe? I understand that FUKISHIMA  still is pouring  nuclear waste into the ocean.I have 2 friends who lived in Tokyo at the time and both got cancer. Thanks!!

Hi cnilsen,

Great question…it’s risky out there in the sea, isn’t it? Seaweed raised in the Atlantic instead of the Pacific is considered to be safer in terms of nuclear effects. However, it should still be ‘organic’, such as that from Maine Coast Sea Vegetables.

There are many brands out there. I mentioned Maine Coast Sea Vegetables which is sourced from the Atlantic, but there is also Annie Chun’s, GimMe Seaweed, and even Kirkland (Costco’s brand) has organic seaweed.
