Hi Doctor ,  been using your 10 day recipes and your daily recipes . I try to limit my meat to once a week . I live on the east coast in New Jersey and no supermarket carries bison steaks just sometime bison ground meat,.

I notice no recipe includes grass fed meat, Is there a reason for that ?

Bison is used in our recipes as a healthier red meat option because it is lower in calories than beef, with significantly less saturated fat content but similar levels of iron and B-vitamins. Additionally, bison is raised naturally, allowed free-range roaming, and eats grass throughout its life, while beef is commonly industrialized raised with little exercise, added hormones and antibiotics, and is usually grain-fed.

Use of organic, free-range, hormone-free, and grass-finished beef is fine on occasion for most people, but this is not typically the type of meat being consumed. We emphasize rotating other animal proteins in our recipes as healthier fare.

Best! -Zoe
