Crosswords: electronic or paper?

If crossword puzzles are good for us, which is better: apps on a device or pen-and-paper? Or does it matter? I know Dr. Amen wants us to restrict screen time, so I’m guessing pen and paper, but I will say that they are easier for me on apps–I always have them at hand.

There is some benefit to both forms but if you are already using screens throughout the day in other ways (as most of us are) then I would opt for the paper version whenever possible. Handwriting engages our brains differently than typing, and helps with building memory for new words as well. Try carrying a travel-size crossword book with you in your car or bag to make access easier. Best! -Zoe
