What dose of NAC do you recommend for liver support? And should it be taken with or without food?

Thanks for your question! It really depends on your whole health picture and your goal for liver support. Eating chlorophyll-rich foods, sweating regularly, and drinking plenty of water are significant factors in detoxification efforts. For general anti-oxidant support, 250 mg/day of NAC may be helpful, but some studies have shown benefit for specific conditions up to 800 mg/day or even higher. What are your goals around use?

My main goal with NAC is to support my liver around estrogen dominance (including acne). Already made lots of changes with food (cutting sugar, soy, dairy, gluten, corn), working on tolerating small doses of probiotic, switched to organic/nontoxic skincare, rebound on Pilates reformer at least three times/week, meditate at least 20 min/day.
Any advice you have is very much appreciated!

Great to hear of all you are doing to take care of yourself! I would encourage you to see one of our functional medicine physicians to determine what is best for you based on your whole health history, but starting doses for estrogen dominance are commonly around 600 mg/day range. Best!
