Xylitol?

What do you think of using xylitol with stevia or erythritol? The reason I ask is that xylitol seems to help strengthen bones and teeth, and mine are very thin.

Xylitol is fine in moderation. It is low calorie, and can be protective against cavities when used in gum. Some people experience digestive upset with too many sugar alcohols, so that is something to watch for. What will you use it in?

Currently I use it in my tooth powder. 🙂 But I was wondering about using it in baked goods or ice cream (I make my own), mixed half-and-half with stevia or erythritol. I tried it in a smoothie but couldn’t really taste any sweetness. The smoothie had apple cider vinegar and lemon juice and really needed something to cut the acid. I ended up using stevia drops.

I haven’t tried it in home made frozen desserts, but I think it works really well in baking. Let us know how you like it!

Swilgenburg-Could you share your tooth powder recipe? Many thanks!

Hi Wendy, here’s a link to the recipe I use. https://www.mommypotamus.com/tooth-powder-recipe/  I really like it (I love cloves and cinnamon) and it doesn’t contain fluoride, which I need to stay away from as it impacts my thyroid. (Hope it’s ok to post links!)

And I also use this one: https://wellnessmama.com/5252/remineralizing-tooth-powder/

Kind of combine the two recipes. No cavities thus far, two years in. 🙂
