Tinnitus and hearing aids

I have tinnitus and had a hearing aid check up with an audiologist. He said I am at a minimal hearing loss that does not require a hearing aid but I can try it and see if it helps the tinnitus.I know there is a brain connection to all of this,so I am wondering about the benefit of getting a hearing aid to reduce/eliminate the tinnitus. He also recommended eating “Super foods” like blueberries and lowering stress level. Also, would coffee (1 cup a day) be a factor? I am 62 years old and female.
Thanks so much!

Tinnitus seems to respond to different things depending on the individual, so you could certainly try the hearing aid to see if that help, and eating “superfoods” is a great idea no matter who you are. I don’t think one cup of coffee would be a factor for most people, though you might try exchanging coffee for green tea for less caffeine. Potential supplements that can help are ginkgo, magnesium, melatonin, zinc and B-12, though it depends on the individual needs. Generally, I would continue to focus on a whole foods diet, rich in antioxidants, plenty of filtered water, and stress reduction/management. Best to you! – Coach Zoe
