Do you mean doing it for yourself off of an instructional video or with a practitioner via video?

Virtual EMDR is online EMDR by yourself with written and guided instructions online with your computer.

Okay, thanks. I asked because there are a couple of forms of doing this “virtually” as some EMDR practitioners will have “live” sessions via video. I only know of a few people who have done EMDR in this way, and each had quite a different experience from powerful to neutral. I think the only way to know if it is worthwhile for you is to try it out, and if it offers you benefit, that’s great.

I would say as a precaution that if you would be using EMDR for trauma resolution, I would recommend you do this with a trusted professional in person. Having a safe space to explore painful experiences is very important for those with trauma history, and is protective of the benefits possible from EMDR. – Coach Zoe

I have been working with Amen Clinics and under therapies initiate Now was EMDR .
My diagnosis was Anxiety disorder, unspecified , I had never heard of EMDR so I read
Getting Past Your Past by Francine Shapiro and The Body Keeps Score by Bessel Van Der Kolk M.D. After reading these books I thought I should give EMDR a try. I went to my health care provider and asked about EMDR and Neurofeedback , they provide neither, its either drugs or classes and that is it .
I found this virtual EMDR online and for me it has been very positive , I would like to give Neurofeedback a try but I think you have to find a place that offers that and go in person, what do you think about Neurofeedback  ?
