Brain Scans of People With Narcolepsy?

Dr. Amen/Coach:

I am a 35-year-old woman with narcolepsy who has recently decided to leave my 11-year career as an English teacher in hopes of re-inventing my life so that I can have a better work – health balance.

I started the Brain Warriors program about a month ago after seeing it on PBS, and I can already feel a positive change, including needing less of my medication for wakefulness.

Narcolepsy is vastly misunderstood and there are few studies, but I learned long ago how eliminating refined and processed foods and carbohydrates can greatly improve my overall health and wakefulness. Going organic and focusing on brain nutrition has been the logical and helpful next step, so thank you!

Now I’d like to know if the clinic has brain scans of people with narcolepsy, and if so, what they reveal. This information would be helpful to many of us who suffer from this incurable brain disorder.

Thanks in advance!

SPECT imaging gives us information about your individual brain’s blood flow, and identifies multiple aspects of brain function that may be identified by our physicians as contributing to symptoms of narcolepsy, as well as rule out other contributors to your symptoms. – Coach Zoe

Coach Zoe:
Thanks for the prompt response.

In the book he co-wrote with Tana titled “The Brain Warriors Way,” Dr. Amen gives photos of SPECT images for alcoholics, drug addicts, and ppl with sleep apnea.

I suppose my question was this: does he have such imaging photos for ppl with narcolepsy?

Thanks!

Not that I am aware of for narcolepsy specifically, but there is information on our site about SPECT imaging and narcolepsy. Perhaps this will give you more information: http://www.amenclinics.com/search/narcolepsy
