I have tried coconut sugar and can’t really adjust to the taste. The glycemic index seems to be lower, but I am wondering 2 things..is it really better than organic,non-bleached cane sugar and what is the glycemic load (just learned about this from Dr.Amen’s “Brain Warrior” book..WOW!!).It seems that an item can have a low glycemic index but the glycemic load is what we need to also examine. Thanks!

Great question! While coconut sugar may be “better” than white table sugar in terms of percentage of fructose, it is still a refined sugar to be avoided in general, and offers little nutritional benefit. Opt for erithrytol or pure stevia as better choices, but still use them only on occasion. We want to  invite our appreciation for other tastes to continue to develop besides our love of sweetness! 🙂
