What is the effect on the brain of mold in the house. I have mold in my appartment on the windows.. I cannot take it out right now as I made a plaint by registered letter to my landlord and waiting for inspector to come to see…I have to wait all this time. My throat, head, hear are itching….I feel my lympathic system in my throat is swollen… WHat is the effect on my brain? feel tired, unfocussed,…could it be one of the reason all my neurotransmettor are low?

There are various home test kits you can use to assess your mold problem, but depending on what state you live in your landlord may have to cover the costs of those, or do it her/himself and provide you with the results. If mold is present, getting away from that environment as soon as you are able is best for your health. In the meantime, practice the other brain healthy tips on this site (nutrition, good sleep, water, exercise, etc.) to optimize your body and brain’s resources. For more information on brain health and mold, see our website which has articles such as this on the effects of mold toxicity on the brain. Best to you! -Coach Zoe
